A two-minute walk from the junction of Osborne Street and Brick Lane, you will find the Ye Frying Pan pub. Mary Nichols, who is generally considered to have been the first of Jack the Ripper’s victims, was seen leaving this place shortly before her mutilated body was discovered in nearby Buck’s Row.
Although the pub is now a curry restaurant, on the top of its façade you can still see the original name and the two crossed frying pans.
