General Information

Świt used to be the most popular cinema in Nowa Huta. It was inaugurated in 1953 with the screening of the propaganda film “Trzy opowieści” (“Three tales”) about the construction of Nowa Huta. Its frontage with 12 columns and decorations emphasises the socialist-realist origin of the building. The cinema operated until 2002 when it was transformed into a shopping centre.
