Located within Holland Park, the Kyoto Garden was designed and constructed by a prominent Japanese garden designer and his team, who flew from Kyoto to celebrate the Japan Festival in London in 1992. That is why the garden, unlike some others, is truly Japanese, and though relatively small, it is worth paying a visit.
The construction of the garden was a part of a cooperative project between the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce in Japan, which gave funds for that purpose. The most interesting part of the garden is the fabulous pond with a small waterfall. The best time to see the site is said to be either spring or autumn.
