The Salle Gaveau is a concert hall dedicated to jazz and classical (particularly chamber) music, and located in the former headquarters of the Gaveau company. It was erected in 1905-1906 by the architect Jacques Hermant. It hosts prestigious concerts as well as other events. A small bar is open during the concerts.
Gaveau of Paris was a French piano manufacturer. The company was established by Joseph Gabriel Gaveau in 1847 and used to be one of the three largest piano makers in France (after Érard and Pleyel). Following a bankruptcy, in 1960 Gaveau merged with Érard. The brand is currently owned by Manufacture Française de Pianos.
