General Information

This is an art museum dedicated to the works of Gustave Moreau. He was a painter who lived between 1826 and 1898. His former dwelling was transformed into a studio and museum in 1895.

The artist was one of the leading Symbolist painters in France. He designed the museum to show his paintings the way he wanted them to be shown. The museum is located in the building where he lived and worked all his life. These three elements combined together make this museum interesting.
