Musée de Montmartre is a museum of cultural history, located in a 17th-century abbey, within the old village of Montmartre. Its main building has been home to famous artists, including Maurice Utrillo, Vincent van Gogh and Auguste Renoir, who painted ‘The Garden in the Rue Cortot, Montmartre’ in its garden.
Today the museum contains a collection of paintings, photographs, posters, and manuscripts documenting Montmartre’s history. It also features temporary exhibits on artists that have lived in Montmartre, and contains a cultural centre that presents lectures and concerts.
