Le mur des je t’aime is a wall made of 612 deep blue, glazed lava tiles with the handwritten sentence ‘I love You’ inscribed in 311 languages. Each tile is 21×29.7cm and resembles a sheet of paper on which the creator of the wall, Frédéric Baron, wrote ‘I Love You’ and passed to people of different nationalities to translate into their languages.
The wall, erected in 2000, is a work of Frederic Baron, an author and composer, and Claire Kito, a calligraphy specialist. It is located in Square Jehan-Rictus, a small, enchanting green space in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
