Founded as early as 1795, Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) specialises in African, Asian, Eastern European and Oceanian languages and civilisations, offering courses in over 90 languages (!).

INALCO is now one of the country’s Grands établissements (France’s most prestigious research and higher education institutions) and offers beginner classes, as well as master’s and PhD courses.
