The café is located at the corner of the Boulevard Saint-Germain and the Rue St. Benoit. It has long been celebrated for its intellectual clientele and had welcomed most of the French intellectuals during the post-war years. The café is still going strong, although the intellectuals have been replaced by tourists.
A literary prize named The Prix de Flore is awarded annually at the Café de Flore since 1994 when it was inaugurated by Frédéric Beigbeder.
Café de Flore is located 50 metres from Saint-Germain-des-Prés metro station (M4 line) and about 200 metres from Mabillon metro station (M10 line).
A lot of tourists criticise the café for its prices. The average opinion is that because of its history, Café de Flore overrates its value.
This is perhaps the most famous café in the world, the name of this café was even used for a movie title with Vanessa Paradis and Kevin Parent. Having been produced in Canada, ‘Café de Flore’ was released in 2011.
The corner where you can find the café is located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. In the nearest location you can find Musée National Eugène Delacroix, also hotels: Clement and Des Saints Peres.
They charge €20 for a very average sandwich or €30 for 2 coffees, 2 orange juices and 3 croissants. Also, it has been said that sometimes waiters were incompetent or rude. We encourage you to go there and get your own opinion on that matter, or try the Les Deux Magots café next door.
