Paris has always been famous for its vivid, glamorous nightlife, and those who enjoy partying in an original setting should visit Le Batofar – a nightclub on a boat that is famous for its progressive music, cutting-edge electro bands, and after-hours dance parties. The red steel lighthouse ship is also a gathering point, restaurant and café.
The boat entered service in 1955 as a light vessel (a ship which acts as a lighthouse). Several years later the boat was sold for use as a floating oil berth, pilot station and harbour store and in 1998 she was sold again and moored on the Seine. This red-metal tugboat has a rooftop bar and the club underneath placed between metal walls and portholes provides excellent accoustics.
